The Creux-222 cave was discovered and explored by the Collectif ASAR. The cave developed in Urgonian limestones at the contact to underlying Hauterivian marly limestones. The cave have been visited several time over the course of Charlotte Honiat PhD in order to find stalagmites that have grown over the last interglacial period. 3 broken stalagmites were collected and 4 micro reconnaissance cores were drilled and dated. One temperature logger was left from October 2019 until July 2021.
